Every investment begins with dialogue. In mid-April, representatives of Ocean Winds and P&Q – the general contractor for the onshore electrical substation for the BC-Wind project – visited the Choczewo Municipality. The purpose of the meeting was to present the project’s assumptions and discuss the key stages of building the grid connection infrastructure within the municipality.
Participants from the Choczewo Municipality included:
• Jarosław Bach – Mayor of the Municipality
• Bartłomiej Pobłocki – Mayor’s Representative for Strategic Investments
• Bożena Szczypior – Municipal Secretary
as well as representatives of Ocean Winds and P&Q.
The discussion covered the scope of work related to the construction of the onshore electrical substation, which will play a crucial role in integrating the BC-Wind offshore wind farm with the national power grid. The construction of the onshore infrastructure is planned for 2026, with the first electricity from the BC-Wind farm expected to flow in 2028.
The meeting continued the efforts initiated by the signing of the contract with P&Q, which took place last week.
