Puck focuses on educating young people in the field of offshore wind farms.

Ocean Winds, a company operating in the field of offshore wind farms and developing the BC-Wind project on the Baltic Sea, together with the Industrial Development Academy, implements the educational program “Career with the Wind”, transferring knowledge and increasing students’ competences in the field of offshore wind energy. The beneficiary of the program in the Puck County, will be young people from the Poviat Vocational and Continuing Education Center in Puck and Stanisław Staszic Vocational-Technical and High School Complex in Kłanino.

The program partners signed two trilateral letters of intent on cooperation in the field of education, ensuring the development of students’ potential, improving their skills, competences and knowledge about renewable energy sources, in particular offshore wind farms.
The program is addressed to students from the following profiles: energy technician, renewable energy technician, electrical technician, logistics technician and mechanical technician. Young people will learn many practical aspects of the creation of offshore wind farms, learn about the supply chain and strategic stages in the development of offshore wind energy on the examples of investments implemented by Ocean Winds around the world.

The Starosty of Puck consistently supports the development of the offshore energy sector in the region.

“Offshore wind energy offers good development prospects for the inhabitants of our region. Foreign investments will improve the infrastructure, among others, in Władysławowo, where a service port for servicing offshore wind farm will be built. We will support the development of the supply chain based on local companies and we want residents to have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to work in the offshore wind energy industry.”- said Jarosław Białk, Starost of Puck.

“At Ocean Winds, we believe in the power of knowledge transfer and long-term prospects for offshore wind energy in Poland. That is why we engage in dialogue with young people and try to show them the backstage of our work and professional development in the offshore sector. Practical knowledge will be an asset due to the plans to locate in Władysławowo the service port for servicing the Ocean Winds wind farm called BC-Wind” – said Aleksandra Jampolska, Stakeholders Manager at Ocean Winds.

As part of the Program, a dedicated e-learning application will be created. It will be available to students at www.rozwoj.mlody-przemysl.pl , where practical materials useful during learning will be placed.
The “Career with the Wind” program has been developed since the beginning of the 2021/2022 school year in selected vocational schools in Gdańsk, Częstochowa and Szczecin. During several months, 120 second and third grade students participated in engaging lectures and dedicated online classes.
The partners of “Career with the Wind” in Puck agreed on the duration of the Program until December 31, 2023, with the possibility of extension.
